We were married in October 2008 and feel so blessed to have each other. We knew when we got married that we wanted to have a family one day. Two years ago, we were told that it was virtually impossible that we would have a biological child. While we believe the Lord can work a miracle in us if He chooses to, we know that us having a biological child may not be part of His plan for us.
Proverbs 19:21 states "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." The Lord worked in us and put it in our hearts to pursue international adoption. In November 2011, we attended an adoption seminar in Maryland with America World, a Christian international adoption agency. After that seminar, we strongly felt the Lord calling us to adopt a little girl from China, one who is a "waiting child" (having some sort of special need, such as a cleft palate or a heart defect). We submitted our application to America World in February 2012 and were accepted into the China program.
We are on an incredible journey! We love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and are so thankful for what He has done, is doing, and will do in our lives!
